The nomination process for the inaugural Philippines Property Award ( is well underway and many real estate firms from across the country have already been put forward for consideration in the 24 categories.

Last year, a robust economy contributed to the rapid expansion of the property market in the

Philippines. The supply of residential units in Metro Manila grew rapidly and the strong property market in the capital contributed to the swift expansion of development into other areas of the country, including the many resort locations.

Being held for the first time in 2013, the Philippines Property Awards are organized by Ensign Media Ltd, publishers of Property Report magazines and overseen by BDO Advisory. They will help map the growth of the Philippines’ property market by providing a platform to promote and reward the best of the country’s real estate.

“The launching of the Philippines Property Awards signifies high optimism in the property market,” head judge and TAJARA Leisure and Hospitality Group president Cyndy Jarabata said. “It’s an opportunity for developers, property consultants, architects and interior designers who have entered the nomination to compete for excellence, and for winners to set high grounds for next year’s competition.”

The awards have been well received by the Philippines’ residential real estate industry as they provide a platform to promote the high level of quality now available to investors in Philippines’ real estate, construction, architectural and interior design sectors, as well as to highlight the professional services on offer around the country.

A professionally run awards scheme will also boost the Philippines’ standing on the worldwide property market stage with international media coverage and high-level sponsorship.

The Awards begin with nominations by the public and the industry, followed by entry submissions and finally judging by a panel of real estate professionals, which includes site visits for top short-listed developments in each category. Nominees will undergo a rigorous judging process, and only one overall winner will be named in each category, with some developers, projects and architects also to be awarded Highly Commended certificates.

“I consider it a privilege to be part of this esteemed panel,” Jarabata said. “I definitely look forward to working with other judges in the meticulous process of choosing the best in the property market.”

The Gala dinner and presentation ceremony offers a rare opportunity for prominent figures in Philippines’ real estate and business communities to come together, network and congratulate their fellow achievers.

The past winners of the coveted South East Asia Property Awards and the Thailand Property
